Here are a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the Insti-Tutor and Tutor Opportunity.  This list will be updated from time to time.

Question: Will the Area Managers have exclusive rights to their area? If so, will this be the case indefinately or will head office be able to add managers in future or reallocate the boundaries of an area managers territory?

Answer: Yes, they will have exclusive rights to their area.  For as long as the Insti-Tutor renews their license annually by way of payment of their annual fee, they will retain those exclusive rights.  Once a region has been assigned with the boundaries clearly stipulated in the licnese/agency agreement, additional Area Managers cannot be appointed by Head Office to that particular region.  If a situation arose where the activity became too overwhelming for an Insti-Tutor to manage in a particular region, we would discuss the possibility of further segregation of the region - but only upon agreement with the Area Manager in question.

Question: Can Area Managers sell their business (or Region)?  If so, are there any fees payable to head office and do head office have the right to buy back that area at any agreed price?

Answer: Yes, an Area Manager (Insti-Tutor) can sell their region for whatever price the market is prepared to pay for their business on the basis that the 'purchaser' of that particular region has been duly approved by TIA as a suitable Area Manager.  Head Office will have first right to buy back a territory from an Area Manager who wishes to sell at an agreed price between the 2 parties.  If an Area Manager chooses not renew at the end of any given 12 month period, then the territory will automatically revert to Head Office, giving HO the right to appoint another Area Manager for that particular region.

Question: What happens if Tutors don’t reach their target of 60 students per year? Are they replaced?

Answer: There will be Tutorz who achieve well in excess of 60 enrolments per year and some that achieve a lot less.  We believe that with our promotional and support activities at a head office level in conjunction with the activities of Area Managers, they will be able to achieve the necessary targets within their area to make it a very viable business.  Tutorz are not necessarily going to be great at promoting the vision and program on a large scale (this will be more a product of the activities of Area Manager’s and HO) but good ones will be very effective at generating word of mouth referral enrolments into their courses with the support of the Area Manager.  We will recommend that a consistently ‘under-performing’ Tutor sell their area on to somebody that will be able to do it justice. It will be up to the Area Manager to identify such cases and assist in facilitating the appointment of a replacement Tutor.  It may also eventuate the an ‘over-performing’ Tutor in the territory could purchase the outgoing Tutorz area and really ‘ramp up’ the number of courses that they are conducting to handle more than one area

Question: Courses are planned to be held in community centres, halls, conference centres etc. Who will pay for the cost of hiring these centres?

Answer: This will be up to the Tutorz. The average class will generate significant income for a Tutor, so this will be a nominal cost component that they will need to account for as part of running their training business.

Question: What are the insurance requirements for an Insti-Tutor? Are they insured under your head office policies or will she need her own insurance (Public Liability etc).

Answer: All Area Manager’s will need their own public liability insurance (same as Tutorz) and all will need to apply and receive a “Blue Card” or “Work with Children Card”

Question: You mention ongoing local area marketing events that will need to be done by area manager and tutors. Will head office give any support for this, either financially or with organising & ideas?

Answer: Head Office will at its own cost, drive large national events and marketing periodically, that will feed the Insti-Tutor and Tutor network.  Area Manager’s will be largely responsible for ensuring that when these events hit their area, they are there to represent and support TIA as the head of their particular region. In between these events, Area Manager’s will need to organise and promote smaller events as they see fit to maintain momentum and the ongoing promotion of The Imagination Academy in their area. We will of course, assist in promoting and support these interim events at a head office level

Question: Will head office fund the Cottage Degree Course Packs that are distributed to the tutor prior to each course?

Answer: Yes, the 14 Curriculum training tools are included in the course Enrolment Fee.

Question: Explain more about product sales commissions that will apply to Insti-Tutorz over and above the Cottage Degree in Imagination fee.

Answer: We recognise that some people will not necessarily want to complete the 14 Curriculums that will make up the Cottage Degree in Imagination course.  Some will simply want to be able to purchase a specific individual Curriculum of interest to them.  These will be available individually at a premium price (higher than the average cost per curriculum applicable if they were to attend the course) and this will simply represent another tier of revenue/profit for an Area Manager – who will collect a wholesale margin in these cases. Over time, there will also be other products developed and available that won’t be relevant to the Cottage Degree Course.  Again, in these cases, the Area Manager will have the opportunity to profit at wholesale from these products as well.

Question: Can an Area manager also be a Tutor?

Answer: Tutorz and Insti-Tutorz will have very different sets of skills and attributes.  One is essentially a business manager and the other is purely an instructor. Though both will need to be totally committed and passionate about TIA, they will be operating at different levels of the spectrum. Having said that, there may be rare cases where this will work and also over time some Insti-Tutorz may come out of the Tutor ranks to fulfil territories that become available.

Question: Who owns the IP to The Imagination Academy?

Answer: The IP for TIA is owned by Don Tolman (Don Tolman International Pte Ltd) and licensed to The Imagination Academy (Global) Ltd. for distribution of related products and curriculums world wide.

Question: Are there License/Agency Agreements for both the Insti-Tutorz and Tutorz?

Answer: Yes, upon approval of a Tutor or Insti-Tutor application, the applicant will be provided with a draft of the license agreement for their perusal before formalizing their position with TIA.

Question: What are the key responsibilities of the Insti-Tutorz?

Answer: To jointly promote (together with head office) the programs and products of TIA in their territory and to organize and stage events promoting TIA vision, products and programs and to manage, assist and empower their network of Tutorz in their region to ensure that they are operating effectively and successfully.

Question: What level of support will be available to the Insti-tutorz?

Answer: Head Office will provide ongoing support in terms of marketing, administration, product distribution and the handling and disbursement of general enquiries through the Country Manager's head office call centre.

Question: How will the geographical zones be split for both the Insti-tutorz and Tutorz?

Answer: Insti-Tutorz into regions, Tutorz into suburb groupings utilizing logical boundaries.

Question: How will these territories be policed?

Answer: All enrolments and product orders will come through head office, where we’ll be able to accurately determine which Region or Area is entitled to that enrolment or the relevant commission.

Question: What recourse is there if Tutorz breach the territories?

Answer: Part of the Insti-Tutorz role will be to resolve this amicably in the first instance. The license agreement stipulates that any situation that cannot be resolved reasonably with the assistance of the Area Manager, will be referred to the Country Manager for resolution

Question: At what point will the Tutorz be screened as to their suitability?

Answer: Initial gathering of information about applicants and screening will be done by the Country Manager. Once a short list has been created, the appointment process will involve both the Country Manager and the Insti-Tutor for the area in question through face-to-face interview.
